Conventionally, most AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount are guaranteed to operate in a temperature range of 0–40°C, which is widely known. However, in cases such as communication equipment, security cameras, and industrial devices, even when installed indoors, if they are placed under direct sunlight or used in extremely cold regions, the temperature can easily exceed this range. Our wide temperature range AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount are guaranteed to operate in a broad range from -20°C to 60°C, making them well-suited to meet such demands.

Waterproof Support

Optimal for water-prone environments with IP65/IP67 protection

This product supports IP65 as a standard specification. With potting (internal resin filling), it can support the higher-grade IP67. While it is still an AC adapter and not recommended for use in fully outdoor environments, it is ideal for semi-outdoor installations and water-prone applications such as residential equipment and surveillance cameras.

Lightning Surge Support

Support for lightning surges up to 10KV available

While standard AC/DC power adapters—desktop & wall-mount—typically guarantee IEC61000-4-5 Level 2 or 3 protection against lightning surges, we also offer support for 10KV and even higher lightning surge resistance upon customer request. Industrial equipment must not be stopped due to lightning surges.
We work closely with customers to provide custom solutions for lightning surge protection, such as confirming secondary grounding conditions, identifying surge entry paths, and implementing countermeasures.

Long-Life Design

Adjustable product lifespan

For all of our products, we can consider adjusting the specifications of the electrolytic capacitors to meet the customer's specific requirements for longer life.
For example, if a customer requires a lifespan of 10 years under 70% rated load, with 24-hour continuous operation at 40°C room temperature, we can examine whether such adjustments are feasible for the model in question. While there are limitations due to restricted space on the circuit board, the approach has been well-received.

They changed the product's operating temperature range

We were designing a new sensing device in-house, and although the main unit could handle an operating temperature of -20℃ to 60℃, the AC adapter we planned to use only supported 0 to 40℃. As a result, we had given up and assumed the product spec would have to be limited to 0 to 40℃. At that time, Unifive proposed a wide-temperature range model. We considered the adoption. Not only did it cover the -20℃ to 60℃ range, but they also modified it further and extended the product’s lifespan guarantee to 10 years, allowing us to confidently release our product.

We were troubled by surge intrusion

We had been troubled by security devices used in buildings becoming damaged and returned due to surge intrusion occurring at a certain frequency. Since these are security devices, if the adapter fails, the entrance doors may not unlock, causing inconvenience to customers. Upon consulting with them, they suggested an adapter with an added varistor and improved surge protection specification. We decided to adopt it.
