About PSE

On this page, I will explain the electrical appliance safety law (PSE) for AC adapters and switching power supplies in an easy-to-understand manner. Based on years of experience and achievements at Unifive, we have extensive knowledge about PSE and can propose products that customers can relieve.

Regarding the provision of PSE

The Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law = PSE was enforced on behalf of the Electrical Appliance and Material Control Law before April 2001 (April 2001) and is stipulated as follows.

A product (electric appliance) that is an electrical product used in ordinary households, shops, offices, etc., and specified by a Cabinet Order is a PSE mark stating that it conforms to the technical standards set by the government, a business name, Rated voltage, rated power consumption, etc., cannot be sold. When dangerous products without these indications have circulated in the market, the state may order the manufacturing companies, etc. Those regulated items are obliged to confirm compliance with technical standards. Third-party institutions must inspect those particularly likely to cause danger or failure, such as specific electrical goods.

Efforts at UNIFIVE

Our AC adapter, a DC power supply device for specific electrical appliances, is meticulously designed to meet the stringent technical standards set by PSE. Adhering to these standards is crucial as it guarantees the safety and reliability of our products.
This time, from "Publication information of target of non-target relation of electrical appliance and safety law" posted on the website of METI on July 25, Heisei 29 "extended code set with appliance plug" and "extended code We will introduce and explain "treatment of things with the built-in AC adapter in the set."

Electric appliances that look similar in appearance also differ in PSE's "electric appliance name" depending on their use, and the applicable technical standards also vary. Wiring instruments used to connect electricity from wall outlets to electrical appliances located far away are commonly referred to as table taps or multi-taps. Still, in PSE electrical appliance names, they are called "extension cord sets."
Products added with plugs for appliances to this multi-tap are treated as "extended cord set," but products with a USB port that can be used for charging smartphones in multi-tap are treated as "DC power supply." It becomes the same as the AC adapter we are offering.
Import manufacturers importing electrical goods from overseas must comply with the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act = PSE technical standards by the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law = PSE, so be careful.
For customers interested in charging AC adapters for smartphones and tablet devices, which is one of our lineups, and those who are looking for other items, please download our product online catalog once by all means. Please do not hesitate to contact our sales department.
