What is the European EU Directive and CE Mark?
The European EU Directive (CE Mark) is a mandatory mark that certifies that products sold and distributed within the EEA (European Economic Area) meet standards that protect the health, safety, and environment of people within the area. |
|
CE in CE Mark stands for the initials of the French words (Conformité Européene). After the launch of the European Single Market in 1993, EC directives were issued to remove tariff barriers within the market and further invigorate economic activity. The CE Mark is a symbol indicating that a product conforms to those EC directives and is safe for use within the area.
