What is the EU Directive and CE Mark?

The CE mark under the EU Directive is a mandatory mark that certifies products sold and distributed in the EEA (European Economic Area) meet the standards to protect the health, safety, and environment of people within the region.

CE in CE mark stands for the French words (Conformité Européene). After the establishment of the European single market in 1993, the EC directive was issued to eliminate tariff barriers within the regional market and further invigorate economic activity. The CE mark certifies that the product complies with the EC directive and is safe for distribution within the region.
