What are the EU Directives and the CE Mark?

The EU Directives (CE Mark) are a mark that certifies that products sold and distributed in the EEA (European Economic Area) market meet standards that protect the health, safety, and environment of people within the region, and its display is mandatory.

EU Directives (CE Mark)

The "CE" in CE Mark is derived from the initials of the French phrase (Conformite Europeene). After the launch of the European single market in 1993, EC Directives were issued to remove trade barriers within the regional market for products and to further stimulate economic activity. The CE Mark certifies that a product complies with those EC Directives and is safe for use within the region.
