Introduction of Unifive PD Products
USB PD is a new power delivery standard that offers higher-level transmission capabilities for USB-C.
Until now, various mobile devices such as laptops and smartphones have adopted different charging interfaces, causing commercial chargers to lack compatibility with products from different manufacturers, which has led to waste and environmental issues due to device obsolescence.
| To address this, the USB-IF association has been actively promoting Power Delivery (PD) charging based on the USB framework. The most well-known products include the 12-inch MacBook and Zenbook 3, which adopt the USB PD protocol and USB Type-C charging interface. USB Power Delivery not only provides fast charging up to 100w but also shortens charging time. With more flexible transmission capabilities, it supports smartphones, digital cameras, mobile devices, external storage peripherals, laptops, all-in-one PCs, displays, etc., completing charging and data transmission tasks with a single cable. |
GaN Design
| Gallium Nitride (GaN) power components are the latest semiconductor material. As one of the third-generation semiconductor materials, GaN offers advantages such as compact size, light weight, low heat generation, and high output compared to conventional silicon-based chargers, making it a future benchmark for high-efficiency charger development. The USB PD chargers developed by Unifive adopt the new semiconductor GaN and support the latest standards such as PD3.0 and QC4+.
