Regarding the medical standard IEC 60601-1-2:2014 "4th Edition" EMC standard, mandatory from January 2019
The 15th Adapter NEWS provides detailed information on the EMC standard of the medical standard IEC60601-1-2:2014 "4th Edition". UNIFIVE offers a lineup of medical power supplies compliant with this EMC standard, which became mandatory in January 2019.
Implementation of Medical Standard IEC60601-1-2:2014
IEC60601-1-2:2014 "4th Edition"
As already announced, the medical EMC standard "IEC60601-1-2:2014 (4th Edition)" will become mandatory from January 1, 2019.
(The current "IEC60601-1-2:2017 (3rd Edition)" will expire on December 31, 2018.)
Therefore, from January 1, 2019 onward, Products for the European and US markets must be upgraded and compliant with this new standard.
For customers who have already shipped to Europe and the US, or are considering future shipments,
we recommend confirming whether the currently selected or considered AC/DC Power Adapter (power supply) complies with this new standard.
- This standard is based on international standards and differs from the domestic Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act standard "JIS T 0601-1-2:2012".
- UNIFIVE's medical AC/DC Power Adapter for Europe and the US (UM305, UM312, UM315, UM318 series) are already compliant with the new standard.
