Impulse test

An impulse test conducted to determine whether electrical and electronic equipment meets standards for resistance to temporary high voltages. The test evaluates resistance to electrical surges by checking whether the equipment continues to operate normally without failure after higher-than-normal operating voltage (commercial voltage) waveforms or high-frequency waveforms are applied for a specified period of time. It is mainly carried out as a pre-use inspection (factory inspection) of electrical and electronic equipment.
