A coil wound with electric wire. It is one of the basic and important components that make up a switching circuit. It is used to obtain inductance. By passing electric current through it, energy can be stored as magnetism. By utilizing the function of converting electricity into magnetism, it is also used as an important part of a transformer that converts AC voltage.
