Inlet

The socket part on the equipment side that receives the power plug for commercial power input of electrical and electronic equipment. The outlet refers to the commercial power socket, while the inlet is its counterpart. The ends of the power cord are often shaped differently to avoid incorrect connections—one side connects to the equipment's inlet, and the other connects to the outlet of the commercial power socket.
