Inlet

This refers to the socket on the device side that receives the power plug for the commercial power input of electrical and electronic equipment. In contrast to the inlet, the commercial power socket is called an outlet. The two ends of a power cord often have different shapes to prevent incorrect connections: one end connects to the device inlet, and the other connects to the commercial power outlet.
