Inlet

The socket part on the equipment side that receives the power plug for commercial power input of electrical and electronic devices. In contrast to "inlet," a commercial power outlet is referred to as an "outlet." The two ends of a power cord often have different shapes to prevent incorrect connections—one end connects to the equipment inlet, and the other connects to the commercial power outlet.
