Contamination level
Insulation distance is one of the key factors that determine the creepage distance and clearance. According to IEC standards, the pollution degree is categorized into four levels.
Pollution Degree 1: Conditions in clean air, such as clean rooms.
Pollution Degree 2: Usage environments for electrical devices and appliances inside control panels and office equipment.
Pollution Degree 3: Environments such as general factory floors.
Pollution Degree 4: Outdoor environments and the like.
The higher the pollution degree, the greater the risk of insulation breakdown or short-circuiting due to condensation caused by dust and moisture, so it is necessary to increase the insulation distance.
