Primary circuit

In a power supply circuit, this refers to the part on the power supply side that is electrically isolated and not directly connected through a transformer or similar device. When an uninterruptible power supply or battery is connected, it refers to the circuit that supplies power to the battery. Even in cases where the circuit is not isolated, the power supply side may still be referred to as the primary circuit.
