Safety standards

In electrical and electronic devices, standards are established from the perspective of preventing electric shock accidents, fires, or other hazards caused by leakage or short circuits, ensuring safe usage without endangering human life or property. Although there are many standards for electrical and electronic devices, the foundational law defining safety standards is the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law. For electrical facilities such as power transmission and distribution systems, safety standards are stipulated in the Internal Wiring Regulations and the Technical Standards for Electrical Facilities.
