Safety standards
In electrical and electronic equipment, this refers to standards established from the perspective of safe usage without posing danger to human life or property by preventing electric shocks or fires caused by leakage or short circuits. While there are many standards for electrical and electronic devices, the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law serves as the legal basis for safety-related standards. In electrical installations such as power transmission and distribution systems, the Indoor Wiring Regulations and the Technical Standards for Electrical Installations define the safety standards.
