Safety standards
Standards established from the perspective of preventing electric shock accidents and fires caused by electric leakage or short circuits in electrical and electronic equipment, ensuring safe use without danger to human life or property. There are many standards for electrical and electronic equipment, and the Act on the Safety of Electrical Appliances and Materials serves as the underlying law for standards established from a safety standpoint. For electrical installations such as power transmission and distribution facilities, the Interior Wiring Regulations and the Technical Standards for Electrical Installations define safety standards.
