ESD

A high-voltage discharge of several thousand volts generated by static electricity. It occurs when electrical charges accumulate in materials that easily become electrified due to friction and other causes. It is more likely to occur under certain weather conditions, such as low humidity in winter. LSD can cause malfunction or failure of electrical and electronic circuits. Countermeasures include grounding, controlling humidity, and removing static charge by generating ions.
