FMEA(Fault Mode and Effects Analysis)
An abbreviation for Fault Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). In the design phase of a power circuit, all single failure modes of components (assuming that multiple failures do not occur simultaneously) are considered to predict in advance what effect each failure might have. Conducting FMEA in the early stages of design has the advantage of eliminating rework. If FMEA results predict phenomena that could lead to failure, such as components generating heat, an abnormal test may be conducted to intentionally cause destruction.
