FMEA(Fault Mode and Effects Analysis)
Abbreviation for Fault Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). In the design phase of power circuits, it involves assuming single fault modes for all components (under the assumption that multiple faults do not occur simultaneously) and predicting in advance what effects those faults might have. Performing FMEA early in the design phase has the advantage of preventing the need for rework. If FMEA predicts phenomena that could lead to failure, such as components generating heat, abnormal testing may be conducted to actually cause destruction.
