EIAJ (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association) standard

A standard previously defined by the Electronic Industries Association of Japan (EIAJ) before its name change. EIAJ was an organization involving manufacturers of electronic equipment and components, and in 2000 it merged with the Japan Electronic Industry Development Association (JEADA) to become the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA). Following the merger, EIAJ standards were integrated into JEITA standards, but some of the original EIAJ designations still remain in the standard names today.
