Hiccup mode

Hiccup mode is an operating mode triggered by a short-circuit condition during an output fault, in which the power supply repeatedly turns on and off (hiccup means a repeated on-off action like a hiccup). By switching from on to off, internal power dissipation is maintained at a safe level until the fault condition is cleared.
