apparent power
One of the numerical values representing AC power, expressed as the product of voltage (RMS value), current (RMS value), active power, and reactive power. It represents the total of active power and reactive power, and the unit is volt-ampere (VA). Since it can be calculated from voltage and current without considering the power factor, it is sometimes used as a rough estimate of power consumption. Apparent power is often used to indicate the performance, such as output or capacity, of electrical and electronic equipment.
