Apparent power
One of the values representing AC power, expressed as the product of voltage (RMS) and current (RMS), active power, and reactive power. It represents the total of active and reactive power, and the unit is volt-ampere (VA). Since it can be calculated if voltage and current are known without considering power factor, it is sometimes used as an approximate indicator of power consumption. Apparent power is often used to indicate the performance such as output or capacity of electrical and electronic equipment.
