Battery charger

A charger for storage batteries. This is a device that charges a discharged storage battery by applying a specified voltage and sending a charging current to initiate a chemical reaction opposite to that of discharging. The terminal voltage is used to measure the charge level and prevent overcharging. Due to recent advancements in storage battery technology, sophisticated battery management systems have been developed that include not only charging functions but also performance maintenance, lifespan extension, protection, and safety features.
