blind mate
Blind mate refers to a concept in the mechanical design of power supplies, describing a mechanism that connects to a matching connector when slid into a designated position and properly secured. This is commonly seen in parallel/redundant hot-swappable or warm-swappable power supplies or modules. Such connections often include short pins known as "last mate," which activate the power supply only after a firm connection is made with the counterpart connector, preventing arcing or power delivery before secure attachment.
