Blind Mate
Blind mate refers to a concept in the mechanical design of power supplies in which the unit slides into a designated position and connects with a mating connector when properly seated and secured. It is commonly seen in hot-swappable or warm-swappable power supplies or modules for parallel/redundant applications. In this type of connection, there is often a short pin called a "last mate." This pin is used to turn on the power and functions to prevent arcing or power supply until the connector is firmly and properly engaged with its counterpart.
