Parallel operation
Connecting two or more power supply units to a single load and sharing the output current among them. When the output of the power supply units is direct current, the voltages must be equal. In the case of alternating current, the waveforms must match completely, including frequency and phase. If the voltages or waveforms differ, abnormal currents may flow through the power supply units, causing failure. Even if one of the power supply units fails, power supply continues seamlessly from the other unit, so this method is often used to ensure the reliability of the power supply.
