Protection function
In power equipment, this refers to the function that detects abnormal conditions of the device and performs protective actions. Abnormalities in the device itself that are detected include overvoltage or overcurrent on the input or output side. Environmental abnormalities during equipment use include temperature or humidity issues. When an abnormality is detected, the system may stop (or restrict) input or output, or generate an alarm to notify. Multiple protection functions are often implemented, taking into consideration the usage environment and expected abnormalities.
