smoothing capacitor
In the process of converting AC voltage into a stable DC voltage, when the rectifier circuit converts it into a unidirectional DC voltage using diodes, the voltage magnitude is not constant. Therefore, the smoothing circuit converts the fluctuating DC voltage into a stable DC voltage with a constant magnitude. The smoothing circuit is composed of a capacitor, coil, and resistor, with the capacitor referred to as a smoothing capacitor. The smoothing capacitor plays a role in stabilizing the voltage by charging when the rectified DC voltage exceeds the average value and discharging when it falls below the average value.
