Permissible humidity range

The range of minimum and maximum humidity levels that do not cause failures or degrade performance when electrical or electronic equipment is stored for a long time without being powered on (i.e., inactive). Since long-term storage is assumed, for devices intended for use in humid environments, the upper limit of the storage humidity range may be lower than that of the operating humidity range. If the humidity exceeds the storage humidity range, there is a higher risk of corrosion and degradation due to moisture. Conversely, if it is too low, the risk of electrical failure or degradation due to static electricity increases.
