Surface mount

One method of high-density mounting of electronic components on printed circuit boards. It involves mounting leadless components on the surface of the printed circuit board. Compared to through-hole mounting, where components with leads are fixed through holes in the PCB, it offers advantages such as simpler processes and space-saving, but has the drawback that components are more prone to detachment.
