JET
The Japan Electrical Safety & Environment Technology Laboratories. In 1963, it took over national testing operations and was established as a designated testing body based on the Electrical Appliance and Material Control Law (currently the Electrical Appliances and Materials Safety Act). During the era of the former Electrical Appliance and Material Control Law, it primarily conducted type approval tests for Class A electrical appliances. After the law was revised to the Electrical Appliances and Materials Safety Act in 2001 due to deregulation, it succeeded those operations and conducts testing, inspection, and certification related to electrical Products, issuing S-JET certification to supplement the revised law. In addition to S-JET certification, it also provides overseas certification support services, collaborating with overseas inspection bodies as an international inspection organization and actively engaging in technical assistance to developing countries.
