JET
This refers to the Japan Electrical Safety & Environment Technology Laboratories (JET). It was established in 1963 as a designated testing organization under the Electrical Appliance and Material Control Law (now the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law), taking over the national testing operations. During the era of the old law, JET primarily conducted type approval tests for Class A electrical appliances. After the deregulation in 2001 and the revision of the law to the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law, JET continued its operations, conducting tests, inspections, and certifications related to electrical products, issuing the S-JET certification, and supporting the revised law. In addition to the S-JET certification, JET is also engaged in international certification support services, working in cooperation with overseas inspection bodies as a global inspection agency, and actively engages in technical cooperation with developing countries.
