Damping characteristics

Indicates the attenuation effect of a filter circuit with respect to frequency. It is often represented as a graph showing the relationship between frequency and attenuation, and typically the attenuation is greatest at a certain frequency, decreasing as the frequency becomes higher (or lower) than that point. It is desirable to select a filter circuit with attenuation characteristics that match the frequency of the noise to be removed.
