Common-mode noise

Noise is broadly classified into normal mode noise and common mode noise. While normal mode noise is noise that occurs between conductors, common mode noise is noise that occurs between ground and a conductor. Common mode noise includes conducted noise that travels through wiring and radiated noise that is emitted from wiring into the air as electromagnetic waves.
