Outpatient surge

When electrical and electronic equipment is subjected to abnormal voltage due to a surge generated externally. There are two types of causes: a switching surge generated in the AC power circuit on the power supply side that enters through the power line, and a lightning surge caused by a lightning strike that enters through the ground. An effective countermeasure against external surges is the installation of a varistor. A varistor has high insulation resistance under normal voltage, but when a certain level of high voltage is exceeded, its resistance decreases, diverting the surge voltage to protect the equipment.
