Galvanic isolation

Galvanic isolation in a power supply means that the primary circuit and the secondary circuit are electrically and physically isolated. Electrical isolation is achieved by using an isolation transformer. Physical isolation means that the output wiring of the power supply does not come into contact with or connect to the input wiring.
