Excessive response

In a power supply circuit, when the input is turned on or off, or when the input voltage or output current changes rapidly, the manner in which the output voltage varies from the start of the change until it settles to a constant value or an AC waveform. It is often represented by a graph with voltage on the vertical axis and time on the horizontal axis. The transient response is determined by the RLC components included in the circuit.
