Modular power supply
A power supply unit housed within a single enclosure. It is often designed to be installed in a rack such as an equipment mounting frame. In such cases, to make effective use of the space inside the rack, it is shaped to match the rack width and structured so that it can be easily secured to the rack with brackets. Since it is often assumed that the sides will be in close contact with other equipment, cooling devices such as fans are frequently installed at the rear of the power supply, where they do not overlap with other equipment, to efficiently dissipate heat.
