pulsation rate

This is a value that indicates the proportion of AC components contained in the output DC (pulsating current) of a regulated DC power supply, and is also called ripple (content rate).

ΔVac: Effective value of the AC component contained in the DC (pulsating current)
Vdc: Average value of the DC (pulsating current)

Then, the ripple factor is expressed by the following formula.

Ripple factor: γ=(ΔVac/Vdc)x100(%)

This is a value that indicates the accuracy of the DC voltage output from a regulated DC power supply; the smaller the ripple factor, the higher the stability of the DC voltage. The ripple factor of a perfect DC is 0(%).
