pulsation rate
A numerical value representing the proportion of AC component contained in the output DC (pulsating current) from devices such as DC stabilized power supplies, also called ripple (content rate).
ΔVac: RMS value of the AC component contained in DC (pulsating current)
Vdc: Average value of the DC (pulsating current)
With these definitions, the ripple factor is expressed by the following formula.
Ripple factor: γ = (ΔVac / Vdc) × 100 (%)
This is a numerical value that indicates the accuracy of the output DC voltage from devices such as DC stabilized power supplies. The smaller the ripple factor, the higher the stability of the DC voltage. For perfect DC, the ripple factor is 0 (%).
