OCP

A safety function to prevent failures due to overheating when an electric or electronic circuit carries an excessive current caused by a short circuit or similar issue. Many power supply circuits use OCP to detect overcurrent and either lower the voltage or stop the output. Some OCPs also have the function to automatically restore the voltage when the current returns to normal.
