noise

The high-frequency components excluding ripple that appear between the output terminals of a power supply circuit. It is expressed as the waveform of one cycle from peak to peak. While ripple is caused by the frequency of the input voltage, noise is caused by surges and other intrusions from the power supply side. Countermeasures against noise include inserting a noise filter on the output side and implementing surge protection on the power supply side.
