Line filter

In power equipment, a noise filter is inserted to block input feedback noise and external noise from the power circuit toward the AC power source, such as electromagnetic surges and conducted noise. It is required to reduce the noise to levels specified by the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law. A line filter can mitigate common mode noise that occurs between the power line and the ground, but it cannot reduce normal mode noise that occurs between power lines.
