Operating temperature range

The range of ambient temperatures in which electrical and electronic equipment can be used continuously without malfunction. For heat-generating equipment, this refers to the temperature at a location not affected by the generated heat. Exceeding this range may shorten the equipment's lifespan or cause failure. It is usually within the normal temperature range, but there are also devices designed for use in harsh environments, such as cold-climate models and equipment that can operate at high temperatures.
