Peak value
The peak value (maximum value) of a waveform other than direct current, such as an AC waveform or a pulse waveform. In the case of a sinusoidal AC waveform, it coincides with the crest value. It is also one of the reference values used to represent the magnitude of high-frequency noise. Other values used to represent the magnitude of high-frequency noise include the average value and the quasi-peak value. In AC waveforms, measures to prevent electric shock from high voltage are implemented based on the peak value, which is the maximum value.
