Peak value
The peak value (maximum value) of waveforms other than direct current, such as AC waveforms and pulse waveforms. In the case of a sine wave AC, this matches the peak value. It is also one of the reference values used to represent the magnitude of high-frequency noise. Other values used to represent the magnitude of high-frequency noise include the average value and quasi-peak value. In AC waveforms, electric shock prevention measures against high voltage are based on the peak value.
