Soft start

A function to suppress inrush current that exceeds the rated value, which flows due to factors such as the charging current of a capacitor when a power supply circuit or load is turned on. One method is to insert a thermistor, whose resistance increases at low temperatures, into the circuit. By using a thermistor or similar device to gradually raise the output voltage from a low level at startup until it reaches its final value, the equipment is protected from inrush current.
