Noise is broadly categorized into normal mode noise and common mode noise, each of which is further divided into conducted noise and radiated noise. Radiated noise is emitted into the air from power lines, whereas conducted noise propagates along the power lines. The following methods are mainly used as countermeasures against radiated noise.
