Conducted noise
Noise can be broadly classified into normal mode noise and common mode noise, each of which can further be divided into conducted noise and radiated noise. Radiated noise is emitted into the air from power lines, whereas conducted noise propagates along the power lines. Countermeasures against radiated noise mainly include the following methods.
- Countermeasures using soft switching
- Countermeasures utilizing snubbers effectively
- Countermeasures using soft recovery diodes and Schottky barrier diodes
- Countermeasures using ferrite beads and coils
- Countermeasures utilizing the static characteristics of switching transformers
- Countermeasures using core grounding of switching transformers
