Rated output

In power supply circuits and similar systems, this refers to the output value under specified conditions (rated values) such as input voltage and load current. It is usually expressed in terms of power, either as active power (W) or apparent power (VA). In many cases, it is used to indicate the maximum power consumption of a load that can be connected to the power supply circuit. In such cases, the load must be used within a range that does not exceed the rated output.
