Rating

In power supply equipment, this refers to the range of input and output conditions under which normal operation can be maintained without failure. For input, an allowable range is often specified around a standard value, such as a rated input voltage of 100V±10% or a rated input frequency of 50Hz±5%. For output, an upper limit of the allowable range is often specified, such as 1500W or less or 15A or less. The rating is an important factor in selecting an appropriate power supply for connecting a load and is usually determined based on the rated input of the load.
