Series operation

A method in which two or more power supply units are connected in series and operated to increase the voltage applied to the load. The voltage applied to the load is the sum of the voltages of the connected power supply units. If the voltage applied to the load is AC, the output waveforms of the connected power supply units must be similar and their phases must match. If the output waveforms are not similar or the phases do not match, abnormal current may flow in the power supply circuit, causing failure.
