Series operation

A method in which two or more power supply units are connected in series and operated to increase the voltage applied to the load. The load is supplied with the total voltage of the connected power supply units. When the voltage applied to the load is AC, the output waveforms of the connected power supply units must be similar and their phases must be matched. If the output waveforms are not similar or the phases do not match, an abnormal current may flow in the power supply circuit, causing a failure.
