Y capacitor
In power supply circuits, among the capacitors installed on the primary side for purposes such as removing noise, those placed between the line and ground (earth) are called line bypass capacitors. If a Y capacitor fails, there is a risk of equipment failure or fire due to ground fault current. Furthermore, compared to X capacitors, there is a higher risk of electric shock due to leakage current. Therefore, as with X capacitors, strict standards are established. The standards for Y capacitors are JISC5101-14 for domestic standards and IEC60384-14 for international standards.
