Y capacitor
In a power supply circuit, among the capacitors installed on the primary side for purposes such as removing noise, those installed between the phase and ground (earth). Also called line-bypass capacitors. If a Y capacitor fails, there is a risk of equipment damage or fire due to ground fault current. In addition, compared to X capacitors, there is a higher risk of electric shock due to leakage current. Therefore, like X capacitors, strict standards are established. The standards for Y capacitors include JISC5101-14 for domestic standards and IEC60384-14 for international standards.
