Regarding additional compliance with Taiwan RoHS in Taiwan BSMI certification
As the latest news on safety standards, we provide information about Taiwan BSMI.

Taiwan BSMI certification was officially announced on April 10, 2017, in response to the addition of Taiwan RoHS, which came into effect on January 1, 2018. Products subject to Taiwan BSMI certification are required to either apply for new certification (acquisition of new applicable standards) or update the product classification number for already certified certificates. In addition, when submitting new or renewal applications, Taiwan RoHS-related documentation must be included.
UNIFIVE will sequentially update Taiwan BSMI certification for catalog-listed models in response to the Taiwan RoHS addition effective January 1, 2018. Please review the following explanation regarding the additional Taiwan RoHS requirements under Taiwan BSMI certification.
Details of Taiwan RoHS Compliance
1. Changes to the Taiwan BSMI certification mark labeling (regarding RoHS addition)
For Taiwan RoHS updated models, label indication will become mandatory.
Before Taiwan RoHS Update
Arrow mark + R XXXXX number.
After Taiwan RoHS Compliance (Updated)
Arrow mark + R XXXXX number + Taiwan RoHS mark.
- * Products can be identified as Taiwan RoHS updated by the "RoHS" indication on the label.
2. Declaration of the Presence Condition of Restricted Substances
In accordance with CNS15663 Section 5 "Marking of Presence," indication of the presence condition of restricted substances is mandatory. Future Actions
- For Taiwan BSMI certification models obtained on behalf of customers by UNIFIVE, if existing certificates (Taiwan BSMI) that have not been updated in response to the Taiwan RoHS addition effective January 1, 2018, are not renewed and registered by the deadline of December 31, 2017, the certification registration will be revoked. If you request support for the Taiwan RoHS addition, UNIFIVE will handle the application process on your behalf. Customers concerned are requested to contact their respective sales representatives.
- Regarding customers' inventory, products without the Taiwan RoHS mark may still be imported into Taiwan until December 31, 2017. For Products already imported into Taiwan, label changes are not required.
