Regarding Additional Compliance with Taiwan RoHS under Taiwan BSMI Certification
We have posted information regarding Taiwan BSMI as the latest news on safety standards.

Taiwan BSMI certification, which includes the additional Taiwan RoHS compliance, was officially announced on April 10, 2017, and will be enforced starting January 1, 2018. Products subject to Taiwan BSMI certification must either apply for new certification (acquisition of new applicable standards) or update the classification code of already certified products. In addition, any new or renewal applications must include documents related to Taiwan RoHS.
At Unifive, we will gradually update the Taiwan BSMI certification of catalog-listed models in accordance with the additional Taiwan RoHS requirement that will take effect from January 1, 2018. We will explain the resulting changes to Taiwan BSMI certification due to this added compliance as detailed below. We kindly ask for your confirmation.
About Taiwan RoHS Compliance
1. Change in Taiwan BSMI certification mark label content (regarding added RoHS)
Label display on updated Taiwan RoHS models will be mandatory.
Before Taiwan RoHS Update
Arrow mark + R XXXXX number.
After Taiwan RoHS Compliance (Updated)
Arrow mark + R XXXXX number + Taiwan RoHS mark.
- * Taiwan RoHS compliance can be identified by the presence of "RoHS" indication on the label.
2. Statement Regarding the Presence of Restricted Substances
According to "Section 5 Labeling of Contents" in CNS 15663, it is mandatory to display the presence of restricted substances. Unifive publishes statements regarding the presence of restricted substances on the website's wave information. This applies to all models labeled with the updated Taiwan BSMI mark

Going Forward
- For Taiwan BSMI certified models acquired on behalf of customers by Unifive, if the updated registration is not completed by December 31, 2017, the existing unupdated BSMI certificates will be void due to the enforcement of the additional Taiwan RoHS from January 1, 2018. If you request Taiwan RoHS compliance, Unifive will handle the application on your behalf. For eligible customers, please contact your respective sales representative.
- Regarding customer inventory, even without the Taiwan RoHS mark, import into Taiwan will be allowed until December 31, 2017. Products already imported into Taiwan do not require label changes.
For other Unifive products or Taiwan BSMI certified models not mentioned above, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact your sales representative or authorized distributor.
