What Is IoMT?
IoMT stands for Internet of Medical Things, a concept that connects medical devices and healthcare applications to the Internet, enabling the real-time collection and analysis of various types of data.
In the future, IoMT (Internet of Medical Things) is expected to continue evolving and fundamentally transform the healthcare model. With interoperability between devices and the ability to handle information in real time, more accurate and efficient medical care will be established.
Treatments conducted through IoMT are based on personalized data and metrics obtained from postoperative monitoring and chronic disease management using devices. In addition, smart hospital room support tools and alert systems that allow emergency calls will become possible,
enabling a higher standard of care.
What Are IoMT Devices?
IoMT devices generally refer to various types of home medical equipment, smart wearable devices, point-of-care testing devices, and mobile healthcare devices. By using these devices, healthcare professionals and patients in remote locations can stay connected, enabling not only health management but also disease prevention and remote intervention in emergencies.
AC adapters used in IoMT equipment must comply with the EMC standard IEC60601-1-2 Ed 4:2014 test. The FDA & European Union recognizes the 4th edition. As of December 31, 2018, EN 60601-1-2:2007 (Ed.3) was withdrawn from the list of harmonized standards.
