Safe Handling of AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount Part 1: "Do Not Get It Wet"

We are introducing the safe handling of the AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount. The first topic is "Do not get it wet."

AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount

During investigations requested by customers, there have been incidents that appear to be caused by liquid damage.

Although many AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount cases are ultrasonically welded, they are not completely sealed (waterproof).

Most liquid-related failures occur when liquid enters near the outlet of the DC cable or, in the case of movable AC pins, through the movable parts, leading to a short circuit in the conductive parts of the internal circuit board. There have also been cases where use near a humidifier caused rust to form inside the DC plug, resulting in a short circuit. This is due to the chlorine ions contained in tap water.

To prevent such failures, we kindly ask that you observe the following precautions.

  1. Do not use in humid areas where water droplets may be present.
  2. Avoid use in conditions that may lead to condensation due to moisture or humidity.
  3. Do not store or leave in areas where it may get wet from water, beverages, or rain.
  4. If you suspect that water or foreign objects have entered, unplug the power cord of the AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount from the outlet and contact us or your retailer.

“So it was you all along…(;´д`)”

Even if you yourself are careful about the above points, there may still be unexpected culprits — like small animals or pets.

Because AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount and other electrical Products are pleasantly warm, especially in winter, pets may settle near them. We have received Products for troubleshooting that were completely covered in fur. In such cases, just from the smell and the filth, there was never a doubt about the cause of failure — without even opening the case. (T_T)

In any case, liquid damage can lead to serious accidents, so please be extremely cautious.
