Importance of Traceability

Generally, traceability refers to a system that allows tracking and verification of the process from the raw materials of a product to its manufacturing, distribution, and final sale to consumers. This enables assurance of product safety and quality, as well as quick response in the event of a problem.

One of our traceability management systems includes serial number tracking.

Reverse Lookup of Production Lot History Data Using Serial Numbers

The above is an example product label of our AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount. As shown, all of our products are assigned a unique serial number. We use unique product numbers rather than week or month codes.

If a product issue or suspicion arises, we can use the unique product number to reverse lookup the history data of each production lot, enabling confirmation of the manufacturing line records and the production codes of supplier parts allocated to that specific lot.

For example, if an issue such as frequent failure of a certain part occurs in the market, our system allows us to trace when and in which lot the failed part was manufactured and which supplier produced the parts for the target lot, including the production date.

Therefore, if the issue is due to a part defect, we are able to quickly identify and respond with information such as "this range of AC/DC Power Adapters — Desktop & Wall-Mount shipped by us may pose a risk."

Production Lot History Data Stored for 20 Years, Cross-Lot and Model Searches Possible

We store the history data of each production lot, which is linked to the serial number, for 20 years for all of our products.
