ENERGY STAR
Energy Star is an environmental labeling program for energy-saving Products related to external power supplies. Energy Star adopts the same limits defined by the California Energy Commission (CEC), and in Japan it was implemented starting in October 1995 based on an agreement between the U.S. and Japanese governments. As part of the International Energy Star Partnership, participating countries and regions included Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Taiwan, and the European Union. (The program for external power supplies ended in 2010 and transitioned to DoE and ErP.)
