ENERGY STAR
Energy Star refers to the environmental labeling system for energy-saving products related to external power supplies. Energy Star adopts the same restrictions as defined by the California Energy Commission (CEC), and in Japan, it was implemented based on an agreement between the Japanese and U.S. governments starting in October 1995. As part of the international Energy Star partnership, member countries such as Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Taiwan, and the European Union adopted this system. (In 2010, the system for external power supplies ended and transitioned to DoE and ErP regulations.)
