JIS standard

It is a national standard established under the Industrial Standardization Act, which aims to promote industrial standardization. The standard covers 20 fields, including not only electronic devices and electrical machinery but also civil engineering and architecture, automobiles, daily commodities, and information processing. As of March 2019, the total number of standards reached 10,773. Since the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT Agreement) took effect in 1995, alignment with international standards has also been carried out. On July 1, 2019, there was a legal amendment, and the name was changed from Japanese Industrial Standards to Japanese Industrial Standards.
