Capacitor
A capacitor consists of a dielectric material placed between two opposing parallel electrodes. It is one of the basic and important components that make up switching circuits. Because it has the property of temporarily storing electricity, it plays an important role in alternating current to direct current conversion smoothing circuits. Since it allows only AC components to pass and blocks DC components, it is also used as a filter. In AC electric circuits, because it generates a leading power factor, it is also used as a phase-advancing capacitor for power factor improvement.
