Normal mode noise
Noise is broadly classified into normal mode noise and common mode noise. While common mode noise is noise that occurs between ground and wiring, normal mode noise is noise that occurs between conductors. Normal mode noise is further divided into conducted noise, which propagates through the wiring, and radiated noise, which is emitted from the wiring into the air as electromagnetic waves. One method to suppress normal mode noise is the insertion of an across-the-line capacitor.
